If you are new in town, you rely on street signs to help you find your way around -- but what if you can't see those signs? That's why one viewer emailed me, with a request to investigate why some tree branches hadn't been trimmed.
Here's what the viewer sent to us:
"I don't drive downtown often, so I really use the signs to know where to go and how fast to drive. While coming off 288 onto 59 north.. I found many signs covered with brush. This would really be a problem for visitors to our city, because so many lanes are must exit lanes."
We forwarded that concern to the Texas Department of Transportation. Just a couple days after hearing from us, they sent a crew out to trim the trees in the landscaped area near the Convention Center sign on State Highway 288 Northbound into downtown. Road work crews stay busy keeping those all-important signs clear, especially after storms. Now drivers along 288 can beat the traffic with signs that are easier to see.
