Beat the Traffic: Traffic plan for Freedom Over Texas

Houstonians are getting ready for Houston's Official Fourth of July Celebration. Setup for Freedom Over Texas with Fireworks Presented by Shell is already underway. The event will be held from 4:00-10:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 4 at Buffalo Bayou and Eleanor Tinsley Park. Road closures are already in effect -- here are the details to help you navigate the roadways around the event:
PRE-EVENT TRAFFIC PLAN
Friday, June 25, 7:00 p.m. – Wednesday, June 30, 2010, 7:00 p.m.
· One north lane of Allen Parkway (outbound) at Eleanor Tinsley Park will be closed; two south lanes of Allen Parkway (outbound) will remain open for west bound traffic
Friday, June 25, 7:00 p.m. – Friday, July 2, 7:00 p.m.
· Two north lanes of the Allen Parkway feeder road at Gillette will be closed; south lane of the Allen Parkway feeder road will remain open for east bound traffic
Wednesday, June 30, 7:00 p.m. – Friday, July 2, 7:00 p.m.
· Two north lanes of Allen Parkway (outbound) at Eleanor Tinsley Park will be closed; two south lanes of Allen Parkway (outbound) will remain open for west bound traffic
EVENT STREET CLOSURES
Friday, July 2, 7:00 p.m. – Monday, July 5, 5:00 a.m.
· Allen Parkway north and southbound exit ramps from the Gulf and North Freeways (I-45)
· Sabine at Memorial Drive
· Walker cut-off to Allen Parkway and Sabine (I-45 North on-ramp) and the loop to McKinney remain open
· Allen Parkway (inbound) at Taft (feeder to Gillette open until 4:00 p.m. Saturday)
· Allen Parkway (outbound) at Bagby
· Crosby at West Dallas
· Gillette at West Dallas
Sunday, July 4, 5:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
· Allen Parkway inbound at Montrose (Allen Parkway feeder will remain open for apartments only)
· Silver at Memorial Drive
· Sawyer at Washington

***The Buffalo Bayou Waterway will be closed on Sunday, July 4, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. between the Capitol Street Bridge and Montrose/Studemont
