HOUSTON -- If you plan on travelling near downtown this weekend, watch out for a major closure on US-59! Southbound lanes of US-59 from the I-10 interchange to the I-45 interchange will be closed from Friday at 9PM until Monday at 5 A.M.
Here’s your solution! If you are going downtown, use the San Jacinto exit. If you are trying to stay on US-59, take the I-10 interchange (westbound) to I-45 south to US-59, but plan on a minor delay.
A couple of interchanges will also be closed:
I-10 eastbound connector to US-59 southbound (DETOUR: exit Waco and follow signs to I-10 WB to I-45 SB to US-59 SB)
I-10 westbound ramp to US-59 southbound (DETOUR: I-45 southbound to ramp to US-59 southbound)
Crews will be repairing a section of the Bell Street bridge damaged by cars over the maximum height attempting to pass under the bridge.
