HOUSTON—If you are driving in the Katy area, or travelling to or from San Antonio or Austin, watch for closures along I-10 at SH-99. The Texas Department ofTransportation is closing both directions of I-10 for construction of direct connector ramps between the two roadways.
IH 10 Katy Freeway westbound mainlanes at SH 99 is scheduled to be totally closed beginning Friday, November 11 at 9 p.m. to Saturday, November 12 at 3 p.m. All IH 10 westbound mainlane traffic will be detoured onto the IH 10 westbound frontage road at the exit ramp for SH 99 and will re-enter IH 10 westbound mainlanes after the signal via the next entrance ramp. The Mason Road westbound entrance ramp will also be closed from Friday, November 11 at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday, November 11 at 9 p.m. until Monday, November 14 at 5 a.m.
Also, IH 10 Katy Freeway eastbound mainlanes at SH 99 will be totally closed from Saturday, November 12 at 11 a.m. to Monday, November 14 at 5 a.m. All IH 10 eastbound mainlane traffic will be detoured onto the IH 10 eastbound frontage road at the exit ramp for SH 99 and will re-enter IH 10 eastbound mainlanes after the signal via the next entrance ramp.
TxDOT anticipates that the project will be finished by January 2012.
