HOUSTON—A man was robbed at knife-point in the middle of the day, but he didn’t lose his wallet to the thief. Instead, the victim was forced to hand over his beloved dog.
It happened at about 1 p.m. Wednesday near the 300 block of Drew in Midtown, when a man on a bicycle approached the pet-owner, showed a knife and took the little dog.
"It is pretty bad that it’s come to something to that degree, pull a knife on someone and take their dog," said Darrin Bromley, a Midtown resident.
Now the dog is featured on wanted posters placed all over midtown.
The owners told us by phone that they are still too shaken up to talk on camera.
Other dog-owners in the area said they are wary.
"Never have I heard of that. To the degree of in broad daylight taking a dog with a knife—that is pretty shocking," Bromley said.
The owners’ plea for help was getting plenty of attention online. They said all they want is their dog back.
