KINGWOOD, Texas -- Humble ISD police are investigating a disturbing case of theft and animal abuse. Someone stole a student's show pig, shot it and then butchered it.

The 11th grader had card for the animal since October. She would visit it seven days a week and feed it twice a day.
The pig last seen alive Thursday night, the student discovered the animal missing from its pen some time Friday morning. The pig carcass was found near the barn with its meat taken.
"These young people work so hard all year to raise these animals," said John Morgan, a parent in the school district. "It's just terrible."
Humble ISD Police officers are asking for the public's help with any information on this crime .
"I think it's disgusting," said Kingwood high parent Patty Drost. "They need to catch the people and put them in jail."
