HOUSTON – The Houston Human Society veterinary team has begun preliminary medical exams for a multitude of animals that were rescued from a private residence in northwest Houston on Thursday.
HHS officials said the 230 dogs and 11 cats that were seized from the home spent their first few nights after the rescue in warm, clean kennels with fleece blankets and access to fresh water and food.
In addition to preliminary exams, the veterinary team is still in the process of evaluating each animal to determine the best course of treatment.
