HOUSTON – The Houston SPCA rescued a horse Thursday morning that accidentally fell into a creek in Fort Bend County.
Authorities said officers notified the SPCA that a 10-year-old horse had fallen into Jones Creek and was unable to get out on its own. SPCA officials used a rescue harness and, after about an hour, were able to pull the horse safely out of the creek and reunite it with its owners.
Deputies said the horse had gotten out of its paddock and slipped into the creek while trying to get a drink of water. The horse was scheduled to be examined by veterinarians to ensure he did not suffer any injuries.
