HOUSTON – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office welcomed Thursday four new member to its K-9 unit.

The commissioner’s court approved the donations of Boomer, Fozzie, Mikey and Tamara from K-9’s 4 Cops, a nonprofit agency that specializes in training canines.

"This is a tremendous donation," said Sheriff Adrian Garcia. "With current budget constraints we are extremely grateful to K-9’s 4 Cops for the addition of these newest members to the HCSO. These trained dogs are valuable partners to our law enforcement community."

The donation is made up of two Belgian Malinois, a giant Schnauzer and a German Shepherd.
