HOUSTON – BARC Houston, The city’s animal and shelter adoption center, invites area residents to several events to close out the month of October.
BARC said in addition to its five weekly adoption locations, animals will be featured at the 2010 Houston PetFest.
Also, BARC will partner with the Episcopal Diocese of Houston on October 30 to offer non-denominational pet blessings for both shelter animals and members of the public. The band Cow-Jazz will play at the event from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., during which visitors can take part in face painting, moonbounce games, and discounted pet microchipping.
The organization said it encourages BARC adopters and service animals to attend.
