From her family...

"We were in a serious car accident on Saturday morning, at Beltway 8 and Bammel North Houston (Location: Beltway 8 between 249 & I-45). Our dog was in the back of our SUV when we got rear ended really hard. While we were trying to get our bearings and figure out why our daughter wasn't becoming conscious, he jumped out and took off down the feeder. The police and the EMT's would not let us try and catch him, because we all were injured and needed to go to the hospital. He didn't seem injured, and they supposedly were going to call animal control to come catch him, but he's not at either the county shelter or BARC. We think he is still loose, and can't figure out how to get home. We were just around the corner from our house, but he was really scared, so I don't know where he would have run to. He's a Rhodesian Ridgeback, about 80 pounds, tan with black muzzle, and has a very distinctive ridge of hair on his back that you can see in one of the pictures. He was wearing a really heavy nylon collar that is black and silver, with a rabies tag and a tag with his name and our phone numbers on it. He answers to Max. Please, if anyone has seen him, let me know. That dog is my 6 year old daughters best friend, and she is laying in the ICU right now with a head injury and a broken leg.  If you see him, please call 713-842-0430 and ask for April or 713-842-0427 and ask for Jesse. You can call anytime, day or night. We just want our dog back."
