Pet Paradise Resort and Rover Oaks Pet Resort have teamed up with Rescue Bank and Whole Foods Market® for the second annual Food for Paws pet food drive. Houston and surrounding community residents are encouraged to donate pet food and supplies to Pet Paradise and Rover Oaks locations in Houston & Katy during normal business hours and to participate in the food drive on November 20th from 12pm – 4pm taking place at all Houston area Whole Foods Markets® located at 2955 Kirby Dr, 11145 Westheimer Rd, 6401 Woodway Dr, 4004 Bellaire Blvd and 15900 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land. The Pet Paradise Resorts are located at 7511 Monroe Rd and 14500 John F. Kennedy Blvd.  Rover Oaks Pet Resorts are located at 2550 West Bellfort and 1011 South Katy-Fort Bend Road in Katy.

“Pet Paradise is committed to helping our local community,” explains Pet Paradise CEO, Fred Goldsmith. “In these tough economic times, we want to do our part and help local animal welfare groups hurting for donations and pet owners who are struggling to keep their family pet.”

“Rover Oaks Pet Resort is proud to be a part of the Food for Paws pet food drive,” said Steve Smith, owner of Rover Oaks Pet Resort.   “We are passionate about making a difference for Houston-area animals and strive to assist the groups and individuals who need it the most.”

“The holiday season is a critical time of year for helping families and animal rescue groups,” states Elizabeth Asher, Rescue Bank Executive Director. “We’re proud to be a part of Pet Paradise, Rover Oaks and Whole Foods Market’s commitment to the Houston community.”

“Our guests are big supporters of animal-focused causes and it’s such a big part of who we are as a company,” said Kimberly Crowder, Houston Media Relations Coordinator for Whole Foods Market®. “We want to support those families who are struggling to feed their family pets and know that the visibility of our stores can help create awareness for this important, but often overlooked cause.”

To help increase donations for this drive, Pet Paradise and Rover Oaks will offer one free night of boarding to people who donate a minimum of a 20lb bag of pet food. In addition to the pet food drive on November 20th, local rescue groups will be on hand with adoptables in need of good homes for the holidays at all the Whole Foods Market locations.

The Food for Paws pet food drive will run through December 19th. Rescue BankSM will be distributing the needed supplies to their 70 plus member organizations. In addition to pet food, Rescue BankSM has compiled a wish list of supplies that they are seeking including, Crates and Carriers (any size), Chain link fencing, Shampoo, Kitty litter.  For a complete list visit
