Scout's Honor: Our lucky charm!  Last week BARC sent out an urgent plea for 7 dogs that had been at the shelter longer than any others, several of them BARC STARZ. They had 72 hours to find a way out; the shelter was full and kennels were needed for incoming dogs. Volunteers and staff worked frantically to save the dogs, and happily 2 were adopted Saturday at Wags to Whiskers, including BARC star Princess! The deadline came, however, and 5 dogs were still left. As they have so many times in the past, Scout's Honor rescue stepped in to save the day. They took 16 dogs in total from BARC, including BARC STARZ Flip and Panda!

Scout's honor is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue that focuses on rescuing and placing desperate dogs and cats in the Houston area. They are often the last hope for animals abandoned in shelters and on the streets. They take all breeds regardless of health or behavior and find them loving homes. Scout's honor relies entirely on fosters, and they could use your help now more than ever since taking in the BARC dogs. If you'd like to support Scout's Honor as a foster, a donor, or a sponsor, please visit their website at www.scoutshonor.org and thank them for being BARC STARZ heroes!

Millie is the kitty featured with this story.  "Well, it's alright to be little bitty... Might as well share, might as well smile, Life goes on for a little bitty while." MILLIE is an itty-bitty kitty that is older than she looks. Despite her small stature, MILLIE is actually full-grown at 2 years old. She's a quiet kitty with an itty-bitty meow, and she's absolutely precious with her big eyes and coat of many colors. MILLIE likes to lounge on her soft bed, but we are sure she'd like it at your house much more.  Look for MILLIE at BARC in the open adoption room in the North Building, ID number A1013474.

HAPPY TAILS!

Buster's Friends rescue has once again saved 2 of our STARZ: Danica and Bossley. These 2 cuties are still up for adoption and can be seen at the Highland Village adoption storefront this weekend.

Congratulations to Mandy who found a home where we are told she will have a new boyfriend. Her new mom also says she feels lucky to have found Mandy, the cutest kitty in the whole world!
