Every picture tells a story!  This week we'd like to thank Friends of Barc for providing BARC STARZ with a brand new camera. We hope to bring you improved pictures of BARC dogs and cats available for adoption as soon as we read the instruction book. Friends of Barc has been supporting BARC for over 7 years with donations from the public and dedicated volunteers. While it may seem like a small thing, many animals have been saved over the years thanks to circulating their pictures on the web and via email. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words, and the word we like to hear most associated with pictures of our STARZ is "adopted!"

Featured STARZ...Meet STRIPE. THIS LIL' PUP HAS A CHERRY EYE. This is not a big deal to fix, but when you're trying to get adopted out of a big shelter any flaws can really hurt your chances. STRIPE is a male Lab mix of about 12 weeks old with a shiny black coat and a cute white stripe on his face. He's just as wiggly and cuddly and playful as any normal puppy, and we'd love to see him rescued from BARC so he can have a chance to spend his childhood in a loving home. If you are wiling to take this Special Needs guy, please go to BARC ASAP and ask for STRIPE, or contact Chatauqua Allen at BARC at Chatauqua.Allen@cityofhouston.net.  Look for STRIPE at BARC in South B Ward puppy cages, I.D. number A1014701.

HAPPY TAILS

Once again we extend our deepest gratitude to Buster's Friends Rescue for taking in some of BARC’s longest residents: Chipper, Frisky, Bambi, Russ and Spanky. These wonderful dogs are still up for adoption and can be seen at the Highland Village Adoption Storefront this weekend.

Many cat STARZ were also taken in by rescue groups and fosters, and most of these cats are still available for adoption at various Petsmart locations, as well as Highland Village.

These lucky cats were adopted to loving homes:  Davida and Persia.

And lucky dogs Lady and Skeeter finally found their forever homes. Congratulations to all our friends and their new families!
