Never been a better time than right now. One week ago, over 80 animals left BARC sto start new lives in loving homes. Also thanks to Disney's Give A Day-Get A Day program more than 100 volunteers were on hand to help. It would have been impossible to achieve these numbers a year ago. BARC is getting better every day with the cooperation of the shelter staff, the City of Houston, numerous rescue groups, volunteers and the community. Keep spreading the word to family and friends to support BARC! With everyone's efforts, we can have much more good news and happy tails!
Let's introduce you to two BARC STARZ!
PALOMA - SHE'S MAKING HER "CUTE FACE." At first we were worried that PALOMA had bats in her belfry, but with a little experience we learned that PALOMA is a smart girl with lots of energy who desperately needs to get out of the kennel. PALOMA longs to be outside, running in the grass and playing in the sunshine. She loves toys, particularly rope toys, and she seems to be fine with other dogs. She can even be snuggly when she settles down. A quick learner, it only took us a few minutes to teach her Down. PALOMA is a young Lab mix with some traits of a collie, including her soft, fluffy coat. She's spayed, microchipped and heart worm negative. Let PALOMA show you what a fun dog she can be! Look for PALOMA at BARC in South A Ward, I.D. number A1007010. Email Bonnie at email@example.com or Elizabeth at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
SYDNEY - HAVING A BALL! This little one's kennel card lists her as 3 years old, but we wonder if they meant 3 months old because she is so super-playful. SYDNEY is small, too, with tabby markings on her top and white underneath. She loves to race around and chase toys and other cats, and would be a great playmate if you have a lonely cat at home. SYDNEY is also very out-going and friendly, and she loves a good snuggle. Look for SYDNEY at BARC in the open adoption room in the North Building, ID number A1010728. Email Bonnie at email@example.com for more information.
Huge thanks to Buster's Friends Rescue for taking in Barney, the Brindle dog that had been at BARC since August. They report he is a "wiggly-butt love bug." Barney is still up for adoption and can be seen at the Highland Village Adoption Storefront. Lilly the shy Rottie Mix has left BARC with her new family! James from Weekends at BARC tells us Lilly was adopted by a really sweet couple who loved her the second they met her. And, as always, thanks to all the rescue groups and fosters who pulled cats cats from BARC and are helping them find great homes.
