Montgomery County Animal Shelter (MCAS) will host its 4th annual Hot Dawgs and Cool Cats Adoption Party and Raffle Event Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29 from 10am to 4pm at MCAS located in Conroe, TX on Hwy 242 East. Attendance is free but guests are urged to bring pet food and/or supplies as donations in hopes to “fill a car” with items for MCAS’ animals.

MCAS is close to reaching full capacity and is especially overflowing with kittens. Throughout the weekend MCAS will be offering a 2-for-1 kitten adoption special – two kittens can be adopted for just $70 and for those who are not able to adopt two kittens, single kittens have been reduced to just $60. Additionally, MCAS will have a large selection of dogs and cats available for adoption at the reduced fee of $25, which includes spay/neuter, vaccinations and more. Regular adoption prices are also affordable: just $80 for dogs and $70 for cats. Shelter staff and volunteers will be on hand to help potential adopters choose the right pet.

Raffle tickets can be purchased online at www.mcaspets.org or at the event and you do no have to be in attendance to win the prizes. Over $2,000 in raffle prizes have been donated, including a 32” Magnavox Flat Screen TV, dog/cat and human gift baskets, gift certificates and more. Raffle tickets run 2 for $10, and donations include one free raffle ticket. One hundred percent of ticket sales will go directly to MCASociety, a non-profit group supporting MCAS’ homeless pets by providing medical care and equipping volunteers to find homes and save lives.

Other features throughout the weekend include snow cones, face painting, a jump house, baked goods, various games for the kids, and James Coney Hot Dogs on Saturday.

MCASociety works year round to raise funds for shelter animals, including medical funds pets in foster homes and flea/heartworm prevention for dogs and cats housed at the shelter, and also educates the public about vaccinations, spay and neutering, and other animal welfare issues.
