The Houston SPCA is teaming up with Bunny Buddies to help place our many homeless bunnies into loving indoor homes. On Saturday, September 8th from 10am to 6pm, we will host the Bunny Buddie’s “SomeBUNNY To Love” adoption event inside the Adoptions Center of the Houston SPCA at 900 Portway Drive, Houston, TX.  Some bunnies that are up for adoption include Louisiana and Mississippi Hurricane Isaac evacuees that are ready to call Texas home. You’ll be amazed at the variety of shapes, sizes and personalities among these bunnies. And all of our healthy, adoptable bunnies are already spayed / neutered and ready to hop into their forever homes!

People often think of rabbits as boring caged pets.  In reality, they have unique personalities and make fantastic family companions.  They will actively seek attention, can be litter box trained, and provide an endless amount of affection and fun.  With proper care, a house rabbit can live ten years or more.  Like any companion animal, rabbits are not a good match for every family, so be sure to read Bunny Buddies’ Rabbit Care Guide to see whether a rabbit is right for you.

Before attending the event, potential adopters should check both organizations’ websites to view all of the adoptable bunnies and check the requirements for adoption.  Bunny Buddies does require an approved application in advance of the event. Please download your application at

We will have experienced staff and volunteers from both Bunny Buddies and the Houston SPCA onsite to assist and answer your questions about caring for a house bunny.

Everyone needs SomeBUNNY to love! Our hope is that each and every single one of the homeless bunnies up for adoption will hop home this weekend with their new furever family!
