Representatives from Natural Pawz and BARC, local animal advocates and volunteers will deliver thousands of dollars worth of donated supplies, food and toys today to the animals staying at BARC -- just in time for Thanksgiving.

Natural Pawz is an avid supporter of animal welfare and non-profit organizations. Each location works closely with groups in their respective communities to host events and generate awareness of animal-related charities.  Continuing in this tradition, Natural Pawz used the grand opening of their newest location in the Heights to help the animals at BARC by collecting much-needed supplies and food, as well as monetary donations for the shelter’s volunteer group, Friends of BARC.  During the month of October the group launched Natural Pawz for the Cauze and accepted donations at each of their 7 locations, culminating with the presentation of the items to BARC staff and stakeholders today at 10:30 a.m.  The month-long drive received overwhelming support from the community and generated an estimated $10,000 worth of much-needed supplies for the animals at BARC. “We are dedicated to helping animals in need throughout the city,” said Nadine Joli-Coeur, co-owner of Natural Pawz. “Most Houston shelters are operating at, or above, capacity with limited resources.  We hope our 14-foot delivery truck filled with supplies and donations will make life better for the dogs and cats at BARC.”

"This donation comes at a perfect time to help celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday," said David Atencio, BARC General Manager. "Community support is a vital component to ensuring these animals have the best possible experience while staying at BARC.  We are very thankful for the support of Natural Pawz and their generous customers for helping us meet the needs of the animals staying with us now and in the future."
