DUNLAP, Texas -- That big fish weighs 13.34 pounds.

Matthew Moccia, of Manchaca, pulled the largemouth bass out of a small reservoir on the Guadalupe River on Sunday morning. He was using a DD22 lure in 10 feet of water.

The fish was taken from Lake Dunlap -- near New Braunfels -- to the A.E. Wood State Fish Hatchery in San Marcos, where it is awaiting DNA testing, according to a press release from the Texas Parks & Wildlife.

It will then be taken to the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center to be held to spawning. If DNA tests show the fish is not a pure Florida largemouth, it will be returned to Lake Dunlap.

The fish is the third to be entered into the Toyota ShareLunker Program during the current season, which runs until April 30.

Bennett Cowan, of San Marcos, entered a 14.28-pounder into the competition in October. He caught the lunker in Austin while fishing off a bluff with a worm for bait.

The other fish in the ShareLunker Program was caught in Gunter, Texas, on Dec. 12. It weighed 15.02 pounds.
