KHOU 11 News Reporter Jeff McShan is a native Texan, who grew up in Houston and graduated from Sharpstown High School. He began his broadcasting career more than 25 years ago in Huntsville, Texas.
He attended both Texas A&M and Sam Houston State universities and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from SHSU.
Jeff strongly feels that his job is his public service to the community. Since becoming a reporter he has been honored several times for his outstanding work in the Houston area. His accomplishments include winning a regional Emmy award while at KHOU.

No, I work too much!
What is something you wouldn’t leave the house without?
Nothing.
What is your favorite part of working in television news?
At the end of the day, my greatest reward is helping others. I feel lucky to have a passion for my job.

Jeremy Desel.
What are your 3 favorite films?
Shawshank Redemption, Field of Dreams and All the Presidents Men.
What are your favorite books?
Non-fiction, crime related books are my favorites.
What are your favorite foods?
Mexican
What kind of music do you like?
Classical, Jazz, Country and the latest Hits.
What is always in your refrigerator you cannot live without?
I work all the time and so my refrigerator is always empty.
Coffee or tea or neither?
Coffee.
What is one thing about you most people might be surprised by?
I don't cook and eat out for every meal.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
New York City, Chicago and San Francisco.
What is your favorite soft drink?
Diet coke
Do you have any siblings?
Yes, I have 3 brothers and sisters.
What is your favorite pastime?
Working on my house. Watching the Texans and Astros!
What is your favorite car model?
Porsche, but I drive a Jeep.
Who is your hero?
My parents.
If you had 1-million dollars, what would you do with it?
I would give half of it away to my parents and spend the rest of it on my girlfriend should I ever meet her!!
