Vicente Arenas

Vicente Arenas joined KHOU 11 News in January 2003 as a weekend anchor and weekday reporter. Vicente currently anchors the KHOU 11 News weekend newscasts and also files reports for various newscasts during the week.
Before joining the KHOU 11 News team, Vicente worked at WOAI-TV in San Antonio as the weekday morning anchor and consumer reporter. Prior to that, Vicente was a reporter with KTRK-TV in Houston for nearly five years, primarily covering the crime beat. He has also worked in other television markets throughout his career.
An award-winning journalist, Vicente is a member of several professional Hispanic organizations and served as president of the San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists. Vicente has also served as president of the Houston Association of Hispanic Media Professionals.
Vicente was born and raised in Kenedy, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Journalism.

I love to ski. I nearly killed myself on a mountain in Canada.

I have three sisters
What else might we like to know about you?
My mother had to hike Hostess cupcakes and big red drinks from me when I was a kid. I was very much overweight. She had to buy Sears huskies from a mail order catalog because store bought clothes did not fit me.
What is your favorite pastime?
Movies, going to the gym and biking.
What is your favorite car model?
Range Rover. (I don't have one)
Who is your hero?
My uncle Bear.
If you had 1-million dollars, what would you do with it?
Buy a mountain cabin.
