Drew Karedes made his debut on KHOU 11 News in May of 2012. He serves as general assignment reporter, covering a wide range of stories.
Before coming to Houston, Drew reported for KTNV-TV in Las Vegas. During his time in Sin City, Drew covered everything from breaking news to casino openings to high profile court cases.
Notable stories Drew reported on included the sentencing of O.J Simpson for robbery and kidnapping and the heist at the Bellagio. Drew provided continuing live coverage of the Tucson shooting rampage of 2011 in Arizona.
Drew also reported for the NBC affiliate in Green Bay, WI. It was during his interview there that he made his “break.” Drew was sent to report live on a Tornado that touched down in a northern Wisconsin county.
Prior to his time in Wisconsin, Drew worked behind the scenes at WHDH-TV in Boston.
Drew was born and raised in the Boston area. He is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Journalism.

A Havanese named Hugo. He’s a little dog with a big personality!
What’s your favorite thing to do in Houston?
Eat! Always on the hunt for new restaurants… especially all of the mom and pop gems out there.
What is something you don’t leave the house without?
My BIG sunglasses… not exactly a morning person, so the shades help me ease into the daylight.

Lover of all things Greek. Italian food hits the spot too!
What is your favorite part of working in TV News?
Being on the front lines of a story and having the opportunity to meet those affected.
