Non-Profit Partner Spotlight: Orange Show Center For Visionary Art

Meet the organization behind Houston’s Art Car parade

Bayou City Art Festival is proud to partner with our 16 non-profit partners each with their remarkable causes. One of our non-profit partners this spring is the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art.

The Orange Show was founded as a non-profit organization in 1980 to restore and preserve the then fragile Orange Show Monument. To this day, the organization still focuses on making basic elements of art accessible to Houstonians through preservation and education.

The Orange Show will host the 26th Annual Houston Art Car Parade, a beloved event in Houston, from May 12. As the oldest art car parade in the world, the event wows audiences each year with unbelievable mobile masterpieces in the form of cars.

At Bayou City Art Festival, the Orange Show will be volunteering at the Green Mountain Creative Zone. The volunteers will assist children in making mini art cars! To learn more about the Orange Show or the Art Car Parade, visit the organization’s website. A complete list of Bayou City Art Festival’s non-profit partners can be found here.
