Houston Arts Alliance Folklife + Traditional Arts Program provides the tunes for our festivals
Bayou City Art Festival’s beloved music stage is back! On Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24, the Houston Arts Alliance Local Roots, Global Culture Stage presented by the HAA Folklife + Traditional Arts Program will showcase an array of musical talent that’s local to Houston but with styles from around the globe. The stage provides festival-goers with the opportunity to hear a range of genres from blues to gospel, zydeco to mariachi, plus much more. This year’s performance line-up features local artists including Lady Beatrice Ward, Texas Johnny Brown, Miss Leslie and her Juke-Jointers and Step Rideau & the Zydeco Outlaws, among others.
The Houston Arts Alliance (HAA) is a non-profit organization with the mission to enhance the quality of life and tourism in the Houston area. Approximately 220 individual artists and non-profit art organizations receive more than $3 million in grants from the HAA. The organization also manages the city’s 450-piece civic art collection.
