HOUSTON – Thieves stole a truck from a West Houston shopping center over the weekend and drove away with the owner’s pet dog inside.

Eddie Stribling was inside a Verizon store near I-10 and Bunker Hill around 5:30 p.m. Saturday when thieves took his 2006 Ford F350. Maggie, the Striblings’ golden retriever, was in the back seat.

The truck was found about three hours later in a field near Allen Genoa and Highway 225. It had been wrecked and stripped.

Maggie was nowhere to be seen.

The Striblings have spent hours searching for Maggie, both in the area near where the truck was stolen and where it was found.

"She is dearly loved b y my 8-year-old daughter, along with everyone that meets her," said Margaret Stribling.

The family adopted Maggie through Golden Retriever Rescue two years ago. She was wearing a collar and tag when she disappeared.

A reward is being offered for Maggie’s safe return. If you have any information about the dog, please email: grrhrescue@hotmail.com
