Tech Talk: Houston Zoo coming to Google Street View

HOUSTON -- Google brought its Street View camera to Houston this week, only it wasn’t on the street.

The Houston Zoo tweeted that Google Maps was “mapping” its walkways.

A photo shared by the zoo shows a man wearing the special Google Street View camera backpack while walking around on foot.

The end result will likely show up on Google Map’s “Summer Attractions” page, where they previously featured the Denver Zoo. You can navigate the zoo just as you would navigate a neighborhood on the regular Street View. Yes, the images are good enough that you can see the animals hanging out in their enclosures.

There’s no word on when the Houston Zoo will make its Google Maps debut.
