CYPRESS, Texas – One little girl facing a life-threatening medical condition is headed on the trip of a lifetime.

Laurel Batchelder, 6, was joined by other kids on Friday at Bush Intercontinental Airport.

“I'm excited to see all the Disney princesses,” Batchelder said.

Batchelder, from Cypress, and 36 other kids and their families are going to Disney World.

“She's been counting down the days since we booked the trip,” said Melissa Batchelder, Laurel’s mother.

All of the children going on the trip are in a fight for their lives, all facing life-threatening medical conditions.

The trip to Disney World was made possible by the Something mAAgic Foundation. Everything is free.

The idea is to give the kids and their families a break from their every day fight. All are nominated by friends, family, and even doctors and nurses.

“We are just so incredibly blessed, and incredibly fortunate to have the support,” said Steven Batchelder, Laurel’s father,

The children will enjoy Disney World for an entire week.

American Airlines donated the tickets and the rest of the money for the trips to Disney is raised through donations.

In the last 18 years, the Something mAAgic Foundation has sponsored more than 400 children from around the world.
