HOUSTON - Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia knows how to make a kid’s day.

He visited the Ronald McDonald House where children are waiting for organ transplants. Accompanied by his safety robot “Gizmo,” he talked to the kids about a career in law enforcement.

However, the big thrill came when he deputized them. The children were given a pizza as their compensation for being deputized.

Garcia said he hopes his visit will raise awareness of the importance of donating organs.
