What's your favorite rodeo food?
HOUSTON – From fried everything to anything on a stick, food is the main attraction for a lot of people who attend the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo every year.
Everyone has their favorites, but a few food vendors earned bragging rights for their specialties Thursday during the fifth annual Gold Buckle Foodie Awards.
KHOU 11 News anchors Lily Jang and Katherine Whaley were among the judges who ranked each bite that made their taste buds dance.
"I’m so excited, hungry and glad they picked me; it’s like winning an Oscar," said Coco, a HOT 95.7 disc jockey.
Eight food entries were awarded a plaque, ribbon, $150 Rodeo merchandise certificate and the right to call themselves a 2013 Gold Buckle Foodie Award champion.
