HOUSTON -- The World Affairs Council of Houston (WACH) and the Houston International Festival are working together to continue educating and enlightening Houston-area youth about the issues and impacts of the world and encourage lifelong learning.

On Friday, April 26, 500 hundred Houston-area sixth graders will become citizens of the world by attending the annual WACH World Cultures Summit.

As the Houston iFest celebrates Brazil, this year’s summit will highlight South America.

Event organizers say the World Cultures Summit will include an interactive “Around the World in 60 Minutes” scavenger hunt. The event will end with a visit to the festival’s Chevron Brazil Living Museum, featuring a variety of interactive cultural exhibits and activities showcasing Brazilian art, history and culture.

The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
