HOUSTON – The Houston Passport Agency in the Leland Federal Building in downtown Houston will be closing for renovations.

The agency will be closed starting on Monday and is anticipated to reopen in early 2014.

Passport acceptance facilities, including post offices and clerks of court in the Houston area, will continue to accept routine and expedited passport service applications.

Applicants in need of emergency passport services for immediate travel should schedule an appointment with the closest passport agencies located in Dallas, El Paso, and New Orleans.

Visit the Department’s official website for information about passports, online applications, fees, and processing times.

Appointments at passport agencies and passport information can also be obtained by calling the National Passport Information Center toll-free at 1-877-487-2778 or TDD/TTY at 1-888-874-7793.
