HOUSTON -- The Houston Humane Society unveiled on Saturday a special memorial for the four firefighters killed in the Southwest Inn fire.

The brick memorial outside the shelter is engraved with the fire department’s logo, and four surrounding bricks recognize each firefighter killed, with their name, title and station number.

Family members of Matthew Renaud and Robert Beebee were there, and said both of the men loved animals. They said this memorial means a lot to them.

The Humane Society is also offering free animal adoptions to all police, fire and military personnel this weekend.
