HOUSTON – Diane Tran, the Willis High School honors student who was thrown in jail last spring for missing too much school, is now attending a leadership conference at Stanford University.

When viewers heard Tran’s story on KHOU 11 News, there was a worldwide outpouring of support.

One of the offers that came in to KHOU was from a Stanford administrator. That administrator wanted Tran to attend their summer program, free of charge.

Tran accepted the offer and will be spending the next two weeks on the campus.
