HOUSTON—The Comida food drive, the largest in the city, is underway in Houston.
This is the 28th year that Houston Police Department officers have partnered with Fiesta and Pepsi for the event.
“There are many in our community that don’t have the basic necessities, like food to eat,” said HPD Chief Charles McClelland.
Last year, 3,500 families benefitted from the food drive and nearly $50,0000 was raised, which was used to purchase basic food staples for families.
The chief hopes to top that this year.
