HOUSTON -- A city-wide tradition of the holiday season returns to Houston with discounted pricing and VIP seating available now. On Thursday, November 22, 2012, at 9 a.m., the 63rd Annual Holiday Parade presented by H-E-B will take place in downtown Houston with a global theme of “CELEBRATE! Holidays Around the World.”
Over 400,000 visitors and nearly two million TV viewers throughout the region will experience Houston’s annual holiday tradition live in person and within the comfort of their home on Thanksgiving morning.
“The attendance at last year’s parade far exceeded our expectations,” said Holiday Parade Director, Susan Moriarty. “We only expect things to get bigger and better this season, so we’re announcing our early bird tickets a bit sooner than in previous years and expanding our seating areas.”
Parade viewers will see spectacular new costumes, with vivid colors and even more beautiful, animated, Viareggio-style floats.
Early bird general ticket pricing is from $16-$22. Priority seating and special package options include the Super VIP, on sale for $150 which comes with front and center seats, breakfast, reserved parking, golf cart valet and tickets to the Inaugural Parade Rehearsal event and Sneak Peek Character Breakfast. The standard VIP tickets are on sale for $80 and include front and center seats, free breakfast and reserved parking.
The Holiday Parade will be broadcast live on KHOU-TV (CBS affiliate) in Houston and syndicated in Dallas, San Antonio, Austin and many other cities in the region. Early Bird seats in the grandstand bleachers will be included in the TV zone and are on sale now for just $22 (they increase to $29 after November 6 . Scheduled performances will stop in the TV Zone to be filmed for the television broadcast and seating is available on a first-come, first serve basis. This section is wheelchair accessible.
In addition, there are also Early Bird Turkey Seats available for $16 (they increase to $19 after November 6, which will guarantee a seat at the parade.
Seating areas open at 7:00 a.m. on parade morning and children must have a ticket unless they are sitting in an adults lap. General admission along the parade is free and open to the public.
