HOUTSON -- The Texans are already bigger than life to many fans, and soon they'll look a lot bigger when you’re watching the games in the stands.
The Harris County Sports and Convention Corporation gave the go-ahead Wednesday to purchase two high definition LED displays for Reliant Stadium.
The new additions will be more than 52 feet tall and 277 feet wide. They’ll be bigger than what they have at Cowboys stadium in Dallas, making them the largest in all of professional sports.
Right now, Houston is the only NFL team without a digital scoreboard. The stadium needed to upgrade the scoreboards in order to be eligible to host a Super Bowl.
The new video boards will cost $15.5 million.
