CYPRESS, Texas -- Starting a business isn't easy, but that hasn’t stopped a Cypress high school student who has a bright future she designed herself.

Madison Robinson is an energetic 15-year-old and freshman at CyFair High School.

Madison was just eight years old when she sketched her first pair of FishFlops. She showed the photo to her dad, and fast forward a few years and her dream is now a business.

FishFlops started two years ago with nine samples.

Madison draws them and her dad gets them manufactured overseas.

Last year, they sold 60,000 pairs of flip flops.

FishFlops are sold in stores like Nordstrom and Journey’s, as well as other small boutiques around Houston. They’re also sold online.

Prices range from $20 to $40.

Madison’s shoe line isn’t all about business. She is active in charity work and has donated 10,000 pairs of her shoes to children at local hospitals.

So what does Madison’s future look like?

“I want to turn FishFlops into a lifestyle brand… anything you could possibly need, sheets, clothes,” she said.
