HOUSTON -- Not all students were off on Good Friday.

HISD and some other districts were in session Friday as part of makeup time for days missed during severe weather days this past winter.

Some parents had mixed emotions.

"It doesn't bother me at all," said Rogelio Perez.

"I think it makes more sense at the end of the school year," said another parent.

If parents did not want their children at school for religious reasons, all they had to do was provide a letter of explanation.
