LEAGUE CITY — Should Clear Creek school district voters approve a $367 million bond proposal in May? It would allow 27,000 students to be able to dump their text books and instead get a Dell Latitude tablet. School board members approved a plan Monday night that, should the massive bond proposal pass, $17.5 million will be used to purchase the tablets for every student from fourth through 12th grade.
The tablets would replace the outdated laptop computer carts, which were funded in the 2004 bond proposal approved by voters. Each computer cart carries 20 laptop computers that are checked out by teachers and distributed to students in class. In many cases, students would have to share the laptops.
The tablets would allow the district to offer a tablet to each student.
