HOUSTON—After a successful first week of adoptions in the ASPCA Rachael Ray $100K Challenge, BARC Animal Shelter is reducing cat adoption fees to $10 and dog adoption fees to $20 for the weekend.
The reduced fees will be valid from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 11 through Sunday August 12 at the BARC facility on 3200 Carr Street.
Reduced fees are also in effect at two Petco adoption events--one from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. on Saturday at Highway 6 and FM 529 and the other from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. at Westheimer and Wilcrest.
The Petsmart locations at Highway 290 and Hollister and at 5085 Westheimer will also offer $20 adoptions for dogs and $10 adoptions for cats from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
All animals offered for adoption are spayed or neutered and have received age-appropriate vaccinations, a city license tag and a microchip.
BARC hopes to reach its goal of 2,100 adoptions as part of the Rachael Ray challenge and win the $100,000 grand prize grant.
