HOUSTON—Dozens of children who are looking for new homes got to meet with people who are looking to adopt.
Child Protective Services held an adoption festival in Katy Friday for kids who are older, part of a sibling group, or have special needs. They’re in cps custody after being abused, neglected or abandoned by their biological parents.
One couple had just got an adoption license.
“Our belief is if we step forward to help these young people, give them a step forward, give them some encouragement, let them know someone believes in them and loves them, that could really change their world and the walk that they’re taking in life,” said Richard Simmons.
