If you or someone you know is named “Sydney,” you could win a free trip from Houston to the namesake city in Australia.
Starting Jan. 18, 2018, United Airlines will fly nonstop daily from Houston to Sydney, Australia. To celebrate, the airline is launching a sweepstakes for those with the first or last name “Sydney.”
The prize includes round-trip tickets for the winner and a guest on the inaugural flight from Houston to Sydney, accommodations at the Westin Sydney for five nights and a $500 prepaid card for the trip.
Similarly, five Australian residents with the first or last name “Houston” and their guests will be on a Jan. 20 return flight from Sydney to Houston.
United says it recognizes there are spelling variations for “Sydney,” and those acceptable variations can be viewed in the official rules here.
The sweepstakes runs through Dec. 27 and is not open to residents in New York or Florida.
