NORCROSS, Ga. -- A crash between a train and a tractor-trailer has left a pile of debris strewn at a Gwinnett County intersection.

Officials said the accident happened near Holcomb Bridge and South Peachtree Street around 5 p.m. Tuesday. No one was injured in the incident, but the debris was left strewn around the scene.

Officials said the man who was driving the semi attempted to cross the railroad crossing, even though signage at the intersection clearly states tractor-trailers are prevented from using it. Police said the semi got stuck at the crossing as a train was coming, but officers were able to get the driver and another passenger out of the truck before the train hit struck.

Gwinnett County Fire Department was on the scene assisting Norcross Police as crews worked to clean up the scene.

Police said they driver of the semi worked for a moving company and the debris was the belongings of customers of the company. That driver, who hasn't been identified yet, will face several charges, officials said.
