HOUSTON -- I-10 the Katy Freeway was slow early Wednesday after a truck hit the Houston Avenue bridge.

A piece of debris hanging from the bridge then damaged other trucks that passed under it.

The incident happened around midnight, but the freeway fully reopened several hours later after crews from TxDOT came out and quickly inspected the bridge and removed the damaged piece that was hanging from it.

The Houston Avenue bridge is one of the lowest overpasses in the downtown area, and this is not the first time it has been struck by passing big rigs.
