A woman reported to Pittsburgh police that she was sexually assaulted in a bathroom during Wednesday’s Washington Capitals-Pittsburgh Penguins playoff game at PPG Paints Arena.
The woman reported the alleged incident at a police station near the Penguins’ home arena, Pittsburgh police spokesperson Sonya Toler told USA TODAY Sports, but said that the woman who made the report has yet to be interviewed by investigators.
Pittsburgh police have not released any more details about the alleged incident as of Friday morning.
The Penguins and the arena's management company, AEG, told KDKA-TV that they are cooperating with the police investigation.
“The Pittsburgh Police have informed us of the report and we are cooperating fully; because it is an ongoing police investigation, we will have no further comment at this time,” AEG said in a statement to the TV station.
