Houston Texans LB Max Bullough has been suspended for the first four games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances, according to the NFL.

Bullough will be eligible to return to the active roster on October 2.

He will be allowed to take part in all offseason and preseason practices and games.

Bullough had started three games last season and had 19 tackles and six assists. 

He signed with the Texans as a rookie free agent in 2014 but was released in 2014 and again in 2015. 

He played college ball at Michigan State.
