Texans getting good look at impressive interior OL at Senior Bowl

The Houston Texans are getting firsthand experience coaching a pretty impressive group of interior offensive linemen on the South roster at the Reese’s Senior Bowl this week. With a pressing need for help all over the offensive line outside of oft-injured center Nick Martin, it’s a great chance to see which prospects fit with Ol coach Mike Devlin, head coach Bill O’Brien and the staff.

A few of the guards and centers have stood out through the first two days of practices in Mobile.

The biggest star is Georgia’s Isaiah Wynn. He’s unfortunately been so impressive, it’s unlikely he will fall to Houston’s first pick at the top of the third round. Most contemporary mock drafts have him slotted in the 20-35 overall range, which seems accurate.

A rising star is Colby Gossett from Appalachian State. He’s getting good buzz from the scouts on location.

Here Gossett handles highly-touted Alabama DT DaShawn Hand on a rep, using Hand’s momentum against him but also staying squared up and balanced.
