HOUSTON -- The Houston Texans injury list on the defensive side of the ball is not for the faint of heart.
Already without starters Whitney Mercilus and J.J. Watt, both now on injured reserve after suffering season-ending injuries on Sunday, the team’s Wednesday injury list features several prominent defenders.
Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is the biggest name, and his “did not participate” status with a knee injury is a bit of a surprise. The top three corners on the depth chart — Johnathan Joseph, Kareem Jackson and Kevin Johnson — all did not participate as well.
Adding more insult to the vast injury, inside linebacker Benardrick McKinney sat out Wednesday’s session with a hip injury.
Fortunately, there are two more practice sessions before Sunday’s game. All statuses will be updated each day, with a determination on game status coming after Friday’s practice.
