HOUSTON -- Three incredibly lucky and quick thinking guys are headed to the World Series!

These friends will never forget the day they won World Series tickets from "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." They won the costume contest organized by the show at the University of Houston.

Ellen DeGeneres tweeted Monday she would be giving away "something huge" on campus.

Around noon, a crowd of students gathered at the Ezekiel Cullen Building where an area was roped off as The Ellen Show set up. Ellen DeGeneres was not expected to be on campus, but that did not hold back the hundreds of students wanting a chance at those tickets.

The taping and giveaway began after 3:30 p.m. Ellen tweeted to "wear the biggest outfit for a chance to win tickets to one of the big games!" Big costumes and characters showed up and out.

The three friends were watching her tweets, calling for the biggest costumes. So, they rushed to Party City and bought matching outfits.

Ellen announced the group with the best costume and original rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" would win. Among the best were these three lucky friends who will have a memory to last a lifetime thanks to their spontaneity paying off.

Tuesday's taping and ticket giveaway will air Wednesday at 3 p.m. on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." The tickets they won are for Game 4 in Houston on Saturday.
