Houston Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel has been named the American League’s Pitcher of the Month for April, Major League Baseball announced Wednesday.
It’s Keuchel’s fourth career Pitcher of the Month award, setting the record for the most by a player in Astros franchise history.
In April, Keuchel went 5-0 with a complete game and a 1.21 ERA in six starts. The left-handed pitcher only allowed 25 hits and 11 walks and posted 36 strikeouts in 44.2 innings pitched. He led the MLB in wins and innings pitched in April and ranked third in the AL in ERA and opponent batting average.
Keuchel is the first player in Astros history to go at least 7.0 innings while allowing two or fewer runs in his first six season starts.
